A Place to Slow Down and Return to Yourself.

About the Founder

founder.jpg

I founded The Shala as a place to practice living yoga; gently, intentionally, and in community.

My name is Trisha Hill, and I am a RYT 500, yoga therapist in training, a cross-country coach, and a USATF Level 2 track coach. My yoga journey began over six years ago when I started implementing yoga into my athletes training stimulus to help improve their flexibility, balance, overall strength, lung function, focus, and recovery.

As I began to travel through my yoga journey, I discovered how much value there is in integrating the principles and practices of yoga into all aspects of my daily life, not just on the mat. This new understanding opened my eyes, and I found the value in “teaching yoga” to my athletes instead of “doing yoga” with my athletes.

Today, yoga has become more than a physical practice for me; it has become a profound internal journey towards understanding my true nature and finding peace.

At the heart of my work is community. I am deeply passionate about making yoga accessible to  everyone and creating a space where people feel safe to arrive exactly as they are. A space to move, to breathe, to grow and to let go.

When I am not coaching athletes or teaching yoga, you can find me in the kitchen, making
Ayurvedic meals or running the trails in and around Steuben County.
